In Bloom

Our field trip today took us to the Daffodil Field. Each child was able to pick 20 flowers. After we had our sweet smelling blooms we enjoyed a picnic lunch.

Throughout the month of February we have learned about planting flowers and gardens. Next week we will plant our garden on the playground with the help of Ms. Meggan. If anyone else has a green thumb or likes playing in the dirt, please join us.

The Land Before Time

January is the time of the dinosaurs at PreSchool. Our classroom guest is Mrs. Mitchell, a grandmother of one of our students, dressed as a palentologist. She explained to the children about her job hunting for dinosaurs. We talked about dinosaur fossilsand went on a "dinosaur hunt".
The children are cutting out dinosaur bones to assemble a Tyranosaurus Skeleton.

Happy New Year!

Today in Drama Class, Mrs. Willever taught the children Five Little Snowmen. Each child had an oppurtunity to be a snowman wearing a funny hat. Many giggles were heard up and down the hall as the snowmen melted away.

Fall Is All Around Us

We started the month of October talking about the changing seasons. We worked together as a class to make 4 seasons of a tree posters to hang in our science center. We also went on a leaf walk and found many shapes of leaves. Take a walk the your child to discuss the many changes happening out side. Challenge them to name the shapes and colors of each leaf. We used the leaves we found to make leaf rubbings and leaf prints.
We had lots of fun talking about our pumpkins. We used descriptive words to describe both the outside and inside of a pumpkin. The children helped clean out the inside of our ooey, gooey pumpkin.
When we finished we enjoyed our pumpkin seeds toasted. YUM YUM GOOD! Painting of a Fall Tree at the Art Center. The children used a bottle brush to make the leaves.Meet Mr. Bob, he has been leading the children in our weekly Chapel Time.

The children will welcome autumn with fun crafts designed to practice fine motor skills, cooking activities to entice the senses and math/science lessons of discovery. Each Child will need to bring a pumpkin to school by October 13-14. The pumpkins will be used in many sorting, counting and categorizing activities. Pumpkins will be returned Oct. 23 & 24.
