Learning Through Play

The Housekeeping Center
When your child plays in the housekeeping corner:
He learns what the roles of mothers and fathers and children are.
He understands what it feels like to play at being somebody other than himself.
He learns how to use his imagination.
He learns how to cooperate with other children.

To reinforce the themes in our curriculum we will often change housekeeping to an area of interest in the children's life.
After a visit from our family doctor, our housekeeping center is set up like a doctor's office.

Check back soon as we will introduce Pete's Pizzeria for the letter Pp.

Happy Birthday To ILP

Please join us as we celebrate our 10 year Birthday!

Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 4-6pm.

Throughout the month of March the children were introduced to many works of art and the artist who created these masterpieces. Introducing little ones to fine works of art can improve their visual-discrimination skills, increase their verbal abilities, and inspire them to communicate through language of art themselves. The children's artwork will be on display for friends and family to enjoy.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the art on display.
"Several Circles"

A Self Portrait
"The Starry Night"

"The Snail"
Cake and appitizers will be served.

January is the time of the dinosaurs at PreSchool. Our classroom guest is Mrs. Mitchell, a grandmother of one of our students, dressed as a palentologist. She explained to the children about her job hunting for dinosaurs. We talked about dinosaur fossilsand went on a "dinosaur hunt".

Happy New Year!

Today in Drama Class, Mrs. Willever taught the children Five Little Snowmen. Each child had an oppurtunity to be a snowman wearing a funny hat. Many giggles were heard up and down the hall as the snowmen melted away.

Five little snowmen round and fat
Each one wearing a funny hat.
In the morning out came the sun.
It looked down and melted one.
Four little snowmen........
Three.......
Two........
One.........
Continue melting each snowman until none are left.

Here is a link with snowmen that you and your child can print and act out Five Little Snowmen at home. Enjoy!
